house demo

we are moving along in the house remodel. the master bath and our outer bedroom wall is being demolished today so that we can start the add-on and remodel. the kitchen is waiting for cabinets (which tim is making), then we can move along to flooring and finish work. i am really ready to be done with these MAJOR projects around our house, but know that the finished product will be worth the mess.

the oakland zoo

today we went to the oakland zoo with some friends from church. this was a monumental day in that kate actually pet and combed the goats. it was a beautiful day and we had fun with friends!

ballet lessons

so, we decided to sign kate up for ballet lessons. it is just about the most adorable thing ever. the class is made up of 2 & 3 year olds, including kate's cousin penelope. the girls love it, but i think that they might like their tutus even more!

summer is coming!

i LOVE that summer is on it's way! i think that i must say that a lot because my little parrot (aka kate) has started to say it too. she'll be playing outside and just randomly say, "mommy, summer is coming!" so, here is my top ten list of favorite things about summer (in no particular order).

1. flip flops/bare feet

2. swimming pools/beach

3. ice cream from the ice cream truck ( i figure we'll try that with kate this summer)

4. dinners on the patio

5. s'mores in our fire pit in the backyard

6. camping

7. shorts and tank tops

8.lots of visits from family and friends (we would love to have you!)

9. not knowing which day is which because there is really no "schedule"

10.the beautiful colors displayed all around us in nature

a night away

last night tim and i were able to take our first night away from both our girls. it worked our perfectly as we needed a night away and we were able to celebrate tim's 34th birthday, which is coming up this next week. it was only 24 hours away, but felt like several days. we were able to have 3 uninteruppted, quiet, diaper and barf free meals where we actually had adult conversation and were able to eat our meals slowly! what an amazing concept! we spent the night at a quaint, romantic inn called the harvest inn in st. helena (which we would totally recommend) and toured the wine country like tourists. we had a blast and remembered how much we really do like each other-we did miss the girls, but not TOO much:) thanks grammie and grandpa for taking great care of our little ones-we appreciate it!

since i was home alone with the girls tonight, i decided to do a mini photo shoot with amelia. here is the best photo i took. is it because i'm her mommy or is she cute or what?????

finally some updated pictures of amelia. so far she seems to be the sweetest, most go-with-the flow baby. she recently started sleeping through the night (10pm-7am) and smiles at just about anyone. she especially loves her big sis-it's fun to see the bond developing already!
